Reaching your Love!

Lovers had planned to elope that night. She was a princess whose father had locked her in a room on the top of the castle’s tower. The main gate and other entries were strictly guarded to frustrate any attempt of the Lover to sneak in. The princess looked in helpless anguish, through the window down to her lover who looked like a tiny precious jewel to the princess. The Lover thought of many modes of reaching his love, to elope in the moonlit night. The full moon however was no solace to him since the moon of his heart was up hundreds of feet above, locked up in her room seemingly without any possibility of access. He thought of many strategies to sneak in; a woman’sdisguise but there were female security as well at the entries. He thought of climbing up to her room but the castle wall was a smooth, steep and high without any location on which a rope could be stuck.
In sear frustration, he went to his guide and guru who agreed to tell him about the unique strategy. He told him to procure a beetle, a ball of silk thread, a spool of thicker cotton thread, several meters of thin as well as thick rope. And, lastly, a spoon full of honey! He tied the silk thread to the beetle’s tail and then cotton thread, thin and thick rope were tied knotted in a sequence. Each piece of silk and cotton thread, thin and thick rope were long enough to reach the window framing the face of the princess taut with tension. The guru tipped the nose of beetle with honey and set it at the bottom of the castle below the window. The beetle following the fragrance of honey, crawled up to the window where the princess caught and pulled up the silk thread. Slowly, the cotton thread was pulled up and then the thin and thick rope. Each component of the series like beetle, silk and cotton thread, thin and thick rope and was capable of pulling up each successive piece in order of sequence up to the window. She tied the rope to the window bar and was able to squeeze herself out and climb down the palace with the help of the rope. The Lovers eloped in a union of love blessed by the smiling, bright, full moon.
This story is allegorical in many ways capable of many interpretations. The beloved on the top of the tower is the goal or even god which you are passionately desiring to reach. The drop of honey is the hope which guides up the beetle of your desire, dreaming up to reach your spiritual or secular goal. In practical stages (like the eight fold path of Yoga or Buddha), you climb up the steep tower. Each stage of climb is a physical possibility. Finally, with the help of the thick rope of joy of imminent victory; to either reach your love. And even god climbs down to a passionate union!
This strategic model is a template which applies to any goal for which you are passionately committed, spiritual or secular.
